No one knows the secrets he keeps.

No one knows of the worlds that exist right alongside ours.

Benton is human, but he walks the line between two worlds the mundane and the supernatural; the commonplace and the extraordinary. As a rare Fire Elemental Warlock, he finds himself in trouble more often than he cares to admit. It doesn’t help that his sister is a Faery Queen of the Summer Seelie Court.

This is Benton’s story as he makes his way between the mortal world and a world where magic reigns. Do you dare follow? Do you dare see what lurks just beyond the edge of perception?

Can be read as a new series starter ~ Elemental Fire ~ You do not have to read the previous books in this series to enjoy this one, but it's highly recommended.

History of Fire A Dark Faerie Tale Book 5 eBook Alexia Purdy

This series must be read in order. The first book is The Withering Palace. The second book is Evangeline. The third book is Ever Shade. The fourth book is Ever Fire. The fifth book is Ever Winter. The sixth book is The Cursed. The seventh book is Ever Wrath. This is the eighth book. It is also considered to be the first book in a spin-off series. I can't wait to read Ever Dead!

It came as a shock to Benton that he was born into a family of powerful Elementals. Studying his family's varied history has only made him more curious about how many others like him are out there in the world. If Elementals are such an old race (like Faeries) why has he never met one? What happened to all the other Elemental families? Are they the last ones left? Will he be able to keep his family, small as it is now, safe from whatever dark forces that hunted them in the past? From the Unseelie? Will he ever feel like he belongs anywhere? Or will he always be the consummate outsider?

This is Benton's story, from his point of view. It explains his take on everything that has happened since his mother regained her memories pretty much. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read more! I never realized how amazing a character Benton is.

•••This series, while a spin-off/companion series, would be lost if not read AFTER the parent series in my opinion•••

***This series is suitable for mature young adult through adult readers who enjoy dark modern fantasy action adventures filled with mystery, intrigue, thrills, horror and a bit of romance of the forbidden variety :)

History of Fire A Dark Faerie Tale Book 5 eBook Alexia Purdy Reviews

A look into the life of Shade's brother Benton. This book picks up where Shade's ends. There are surprised throughout the whole book that will have you wanting more. You learn from this story the history of the magical powers that Benton, his little brother, his little sister and Shade possess, fire. I do hope there is more to their story.
I love that you created a story to bring Benton to life and maturity. I like that the history of his ancestor was incorporated to give us an idea of how long the family magic has been in existence.
Alexia Purdy has got to be my favorite writer of Fae. I love the way all her characters are brought to life. Even in their fantastical world, they are still relatable! History of Fire shows us Benton's perspective and his own journey into being a fire elemental. I waited for this story to be published and just drank up the adventure like a desert nomad finding an oasis full of water!
This is a great start for this spin off series to A Dark Faerie Tale series. So it's both book #5 and book #1 of the Elemental Fire series. It's easy to follow along with no difficulty. I must state this male point-of-view which is refreshing.

Benton is a fire warlock and as he tries to clean up the mess left by the Unseelie in the human world. As readers we will learn the history of the family and can see him as a younger boy reading the scrolls. We will envision him as he is still struggling to find his place in both the Human world and the Faere Relm where his sister is a Queen.

If you enjoy action and adventure with a strong family bond pick up this book; because Benton cannot sit still for long.
Omg I loved this book! I tad it in two days! I couldn't put it down! All the action all the details... I had to remind myself that I was not in the book myself! If you have not read this book yet you are truly missing out on a wonderful read! There was a part that had me thinking... NOOOO ANNA WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? I could not believe what all happens in this book... I will be stalking till the next one comes out. I just can't believe how well it was! Please do is both the favor and read this book! You will not be disappointed!!! This is one of my top five fav. series and I've read a ton of books!! You will see why when you read it! It's a keeper!!!
One of my favorite authors had been advertising this book on her FB page, because it's one of the books in Hidden World compilation. The synopsis sounded very interesting and the book cover was enticing. So when I saw this at Vegas Valley Book Festival recently, I immediately bought it. The author of this book warned me that this was a spin off of a series, A Dark Faerie Tale, and it's Benton's POV (a good thing for me since male's POV tops my list). I had enjoyed reading this book even if my brain was spitting out bunch of questions, in which probably had been answered from prior series that I did not read. Sadly, the author failed to mention in this book about Benton's age and description (e.g. height, built, and eye color). A vital information was needed for new readers. I had to imagine his feature like the guy on the book cover and his age like around 18 to 20. Despite of these minor flaws, the story was actually entertaining. It entailed Benton's journeys as a warlock and mercenary. I can't wait to read the next installment.
Reading this series you cannot help but fall in love with all the different characters and their role in the story as a whole. This story we learn more about Benton and their family history, at least the fire elemental side. Benton has become a fighting machine in helping his sister take care of the unseelies that are out in the human world.

Along his travels he meets people, gives his heart away to someone who can't have it, and even loses something. Through all of his trials you cannot help but lose a few tears for him. But I am weird and believe that a story isn't good if it doesn't make you laugh and cry.

There are excellent details in this story when the author describes the other people, sites, and sounds you meet. You feel like you are right there.

This is a perfect continuation of the story, so please join me and continue the journey so we can see where it ends.

Until Next Time... Tabi
